It was home improvement evening, and now we have real, grownup vertical blinds on the dining room window. Reason #4530 that I love my ragazz': he isn't afraid to tackle projects. Yeah, he's never hung blinds before, but he can read the directions and just do it. And also - no one measures things more precisely than he does.
My big adventure happened at Old Navy. It was time to get rid of the white puffy coat: I bought it 4 years ago at Target for $12, and now it had a weird green splotch on it that came from.. I don't know what. Nuclear waste? An errant popsicle? Who knows. I couldn't get the cuffs clean anymore, no matter how much bleach I used. And the thing I hated most was that I couldn't wear big sweatshirts under it without looking like a snausage. Let's face it, when it's cold out, I NEED layers. I also need to be able to breathe, and those two things weren't happening together. Heh.
So I felt like I'd gotten my value from white puffy coat, and now it was time for a new jacket. I found a black one.. a little longer (warm butt! yay!), and it had a furry hood. I decided to try it on. I zipped myself into it, and then I couldn't UNzip it. I was stuck. Like, really REALLY stuck. The lining was sewn in all kitty-wampus and the zipper had grabbed all of it. So there I was, wandering around Old Navy, looking for a salesperson to unzip me. Usually there are clerks all over the place, but not today. Of course not. Why would there be?? I got back to the dressing room and found one of them. "Um, I'm stuck in your coat. Can you please GET ME OUT??" And she laughed and said "I can't, but this lady here can!" Turns out another customer had been stuck in an identical coat just moments before, and a THIRD customer - some poor random woman who was trying clothes on - had just gotten the second customer unzipped. She got me out and I handed the poorly designed coat to the clerk. Then I picked a different coat. One that I can get in and out of without assistance. Oh - and it's nice and warm, and I can most definitely wear sweatershirts underneath it.
Day one of short week coming up and I get a massage at the end of the day. That's an excellent reward.
