Really, it's August again?

2014 started out rather inauspiciously, with Dad's stroke. Then we moved into the whole condo saga, and the worst winter ever, our neighbors bailed, Bea died, and it seemed like it was going to be a repeat of our least favorite year, 2013.

It started to settle down, though, and now we're just in the new normal. Dad continues to recover. The condo.. well, whatever. We miss Bea, but she wouldn't want us to sit around feeling miserable. And other good things have come about as well. My new boss is awesome. We kicked off the summer at a kick-ass live music festival. We have new neighbors who seem really cool and funny. We started a new tradition called Friday Night Fires. There's a shiny new car in the garage, and an equally shiny not-quite-as-new car that runs well and is cute as a button.

Overall, I'd give the year a solid 7.5 so far. Hopefully the upward trend continues.
