131/365 Peace Cookies

Peace. (Or chicken tracks.)

I earned the peace/chicken tracks cookies. I should have made Medal of Courage cookies for living through the awards event. One of the problems of being the person in the office who has the best understanding of IT (*holds for laughter* I know this makes all you Eschelon people laugh and laugh.) is that they think you should be able to do, you know, IMPOSSIBLE things with it. And then they get furious at you when you can't do said impossible things.
(An aside: If I ever did that to any of you Eschelon people, I sincerely apologize.. and you should have taken every opportunity to push me down.)

And so the 4 hours leading up to the event were full of drama, screaming, being grabbed (I need to address that issue separately, on Monday), snarky-ness, and more screaming. Good Lord. And after all that, *my* part of the technology went just fine at the event. Ironically, the problems we did have were with the sound at the venue itself (microphones, etc.), items over which I had no control.

Also ironically, the folks who were involved in the screaming, etc., didn't even come to work yesterday. So the normal (non-screamer) people that came in worked for 2 hours getting everything put away, and then decided to just call it a week.

SO. That's done for another year. And next year it will all be very different, with less drama involved. Let's just put a physical and mental break right here:

ANYWAY! I had an OMG productive day after that. I got so many things done that it seemed like 2 days in one!
Procured groceries and provisions for the week (so much better on a Friday at 11am at Target).
Washed all household linens.
Cleaned the oven (which I discovered is totally set up to be cleaned by a left-handed person - good thing I do yoga so I'm very bendy).
Worked out.
Made Peace/Chicken Tracks cookies.
Bought mom a gift for Mother's Day.
Had dinner with my ragazz'.

Now I have 2 more days of the weekend left, with significantly less tasks to do. WIN!

The boy is off to ride his bike on trails (why trails, when there are perfectly nice, smooth sidewalks? I ask you!) and I am off to the splash class. OH - and did I mention that I worked out on 5 of the past 7 days? Pretty good, eh? Then we're hanging out with Mom, because it's the weekend to do that. Ciao.
