Then we went to Back to the 50s on Friday night and I didn't take one single picture. Tuttavia ("However" in Italian, and that's now my favorite word), all the cars were pretty and we had a fabulous time. And then we stopped at DQ on the way home, because Ice Cream.
On Saturday we first went to a graduation party. Nay knows how to throw a good party, you betcha. And there was food. So much food.

Then we went to Rock the Garden. And rock it we did!

Things from the day: Lizzo - she was great, and I really loved her dress.
Jeremy Messersmith - he started and ended his set with my two favorite songs, and sang all my favorite songs in between (including "Wrecking Ball" which was hysterical). Did I mention? Favorite.
We walked through the Sculpture Garden, which Ragazz' had never seen in person. So fun. And we found lots of shady spots to sit and get hydrated.
Matt and Kim (the singers, not our cousins) were awesome. I'd listened to them on Spotify the week before and was just kinda meh. You really have to see/hear them in person. They win for best crowd engagement, and also for crowd surfing. Also - I'm glad we watched that performance from the comfort of the VIP area, because I am too old for crowd surfing. Heh.
Then - De La Soul!

We were trying to scope out a good vantage point... so I used my chele-mojo (AKA looking particularly pathetic) and charmed a security guard into letting us into the *spendy* VIP area. What a great way to end the evening.
THEN we stopped at our BFF's Back in the 612 Party. We were late, but we got there! It was fun to wind down the day with friends.
*whew* Now it's Sunday.
We went to Bea's funeral service. It was sad but lovely, and really really rainy. Then friends and family went back to the St. Paul Hotel where we talked and laughed and saw old friends from the neighborhood (including the neighbor boys that I hadn't seen since I was in about 8th grade!) and drank a toast to Bea. I'll miss her so much.

THEN. OMG. Then we finally came home and collapsed. I was completely peopled out, which rarely happens. Ragazz' and I retreated to our respective corners of the house (he in his office, me in my big chair) and were just quiet for about 3 hours. I think I slept for a big chunk of that time. We had pizza for dinner and laid low until bed time. I struggled to stay awake until 10pm.
It felt like an entire month's vacation packed into 2-1/2 days. This is how I know we did it right.
I keep thinking that this is the 4th weekend already coming up.. but no! We have a whole bonus week in between. Life is beautiful. La vita รจ bella.
