Halfway through summer? Oh no no no no no. Mother Nature owes us a LOT more summertime. I'm just sayin. Life is good, life is quiet.... except for the underlying river of panic/dread related to the condo saga. When that bubbles up to the surface I just push it right back down again.

There is so much nature in the backyard! I saw a deer standing at the bird feeders yesterday. This, of course, makes me want to get a salt lick for the yard. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't get away with that, though. I also noticed that under one of the chairs back there is a little patch of grass that is exactly bunny-sized. That's where Keith (or maybe it's Kevin) the Bunny hangs out during the day.

I'm up to a 67 day streak in Duolingo, and I know 807 words. I know I'll never be fluent, but doggone it, I can tell you that I have thirteen cats: Io ho tredici gatti.

I've also been playing with Memrise, currently memorizing the numbers on the periodic table. Sulfur: 16. Selenium: 34. Zirconium: 40. Cerium: 58. If I'm ever at a cocktail party and some says, "Hey, what's the number for Europium?" I can reply, "63!" and look like a damn genius. Heh. Really, I just like stretching my brain a little bit. Do not judge.
