That is a whole PLATEFUL of carbs right there.... and I ate every last bit of it. YAY.
This was a fun and busy week, as evidenced by the stack of dishes in my kitchen sink and the laundry piled up in the closets. From Tuesday night until this morning, I felt like home was the place I ran into, set stuff down, and then ran back out again. So today is mostly a day for catching up, with a doughnut and knitting break in the middle (because, you know, FUN).
Our low-and no-carb eating is going really well (except for that plate up there). We've lost weight, we're feeling good, and I'm discovering new-old pants at the back of my closet again. I like it. Sometimes we let ourselves be a little bad, but I think that's okay. If we felt deprived all the time, we couldn't do this.
I finally got the good news I'd been waiting for around the saga of the condo™, and the end is in sight. I wouldn't want to live through this again. I've had to learn (and re-learn) to trust that things are unfolding as they should, and to relinquish that tight hold on controlling all-the-things. It will be a relief when it's done. We're going to have a big celebration.
We're heading up north this weekend into next week for a half work/half vacation trip. The fall colors will be beautiful. Then in 2 weeks we head to Florida for another half work/half vacation (unfortunately HE is the worker that time). I'm so excited to finally meet my "Other Mother" in person! I've already warned her that I will probably cry.
AND we have nailed down all the travel plans for Christmas vacation. Oh Palm Springs, I cannot wait to see you again.
My high school alumnae dinner on Wednesday was too much fun. Really! Besides the plate o'carbs (that plate up there), there was much laughter, hugs, and OMG I got to see my glee club teacher, who is still a tiny little sprightly thing who loves and recognizes all her singers. There are some of us who go all the way back to 1st-2nd-3rd grade together. We still look the same (FABULOUS).. and it's so awesome to reconnect with people and catch up. I can't wait until next year.
The laundry, it is calling my name. Ready, go.
