61/365 - Capitol

The rally day was a big success. Lots of people, lots of buzz, lots of interest. One day we'll get lots of press, too. It's a ramping-up thing. In the meantime, it's a big deal for the kids and the schools, and that's the most important part.

I ran my... well, I ran everything off for 6 hours. One of the highlights - I chased after a senator, flagged her down and got her to speak to the group. Ha! Good thing that sometimes I have no fear or pride. Heh. She was really cool about it, and did a great job.

But man.. those marble floors are the worst. Everything hurt by the end of all that. I got home and threw myself into a hot bath... ahhhh. Then we had dinner with the SherdInns at our Thai place, and I practically licked the plate clean. That never happens because their portions are huge. I was starving!

This morning I'm still a little sore and creaky around the edges. But it should (hopefully, fingers crossed) be an easy work day and if the rest of the staff feels like I do we'll all go home early.

It's such a relief to be done with the whole event. I can smile and look back on it and say "Yeah.. I did that pretty well" now. And even when we're in the middle of it (and I'm the passenger), it's a ton of fun. The months of planning running up to it, though.. ack! I'm glad to not think about it for a while.

Time to make a Friday!
